Summer is a time of year I’m particularly partial to spa treatments – they are supremely refreshing and rejuvenating in the face of unrelenting heat, humidity, and dust. One of my go-to spas in recent times has been Tattva at Cidade de Goa, Dona Paula’s favorite resort now taken over by the reputed Taj Group as part of its SeleQtions portfolio.
Tattva is one of the fastest spa brands in India, focusing on the five core elements of the universe including the human body. Its team of experts aims to bring back into balance these five elements in the body to achieve the ultimate state of wellness.
I arrived at Cidade de Goa feeling well under my best, given the soaring temperature and the busy traffic. The sight of the glistening blue sea and the soft sand before you offer an immediate respite from the heat, and I was quickly escorted to Tattva Spa as part of the resort’s Clube Saude centre.
As the team went over my health information and preferences, I enjoyed a chilled welcome drink that gently edged me into that relaxed state so essential to truly enjoying your spa experience.
Tattva also offers special couple therapies – one lasting 90 minutes and another set for two whole hours of pampering amid togetherness. The latter includes treatments as well as a cleansing facial and jacuzzi, as well as a bottle of wine and fruit platter if the couple is celebrating a special occasion.
I indulged in the Wellness Experience for Women that included a choice of either a Swedish or deep tissue massage, followed by a vitamin facial that I found so appropriate to rejuvenate my skin.
All in all, my latest experience at Tattva Spa is exactly the way I enjoy it – attentive and warm, yet professional, with a deeply refreshing feel at the end of it.
With a number of hours past, lunch at Cidade’s coffee shop, Cafe Azul was calling out to us. We indulged on freshly baked Thin Crust BBQ Chicken Pizza and a mouth-watering Chicken PadThai Noodles with fresh juices to go along. A perfect ending to a great day.
