The Raviz Spa & Resort, Kollam, Kerala

Experience the beauty of Kerala's backwaters.
Experience the beauty of Kerala’s backwaters.

Taking advantage of the famed Kerala waterways this hotel is stunningly located with breathtaking views of Lake Ashtamudi, the Western Ghats and the verdant landscape.

Labeled as Heaven in Gods own Country, true to its word, on my arrival I was awestruck by the surrounded beauty. As a standalone property I was expecting a few flaws but instead with its dedicated team of friendly staff offering a remarkable service – I was left to experience all the intensity and the authenticity of genuine Kerala hospitality during my stay.

Crafted from treated planks and held with coir rope, the Raanthal is something to be experienced.

The hotel

The result of 12 years of hard work from conception to completion, this unique property is a labor of love.

Spread over five acres of beautiful landscaped lush green gardens, the hotel boasts 93 guestrooms designed with subtle touches while incorporating the finest comforts of contemporary living.

As part of your stay, taking advantage of the Two Bedroom Luxury House Boat is a must and a great way to experience the beauty of the Backwaters.

There are various choices of eateries within the hotel but dinner on the Raanthal Floating Restaurant is something to be experience.

The spa

Veda, the hotel’s holistic Ayurvedic spa is situated on the Roof Top, the view is just stunning. Offering both Ayurvedic Treatments & Western Treatments it has nine treatment rooms.

Every room is occupied with Steam Chambers. In addition it also has a Jacuzzi, Mediation room & A Yoga Room. There is also “BELLEZA” a very well equipped (and full of great products) Salon.

After a consultation with the in house physician the treatments adopted for me was the “Sramaghna” Package an Anti Fatigue, Anti Stress & Rejuvenation massage.

The Massage is done with a combination of specially prepared Ayurvedic herbal oils and applied all over the body stimulating the vital points or marmas.

After 10 minutes in the steam bath I was back on the massage table for another treatment called Shirodhara, a continuous flow of liquid onto the forehead. In this treatment, herbal oils, milk or buttermilk containing herbs are poured following the classical method.

Finally a Pevonia Facial left my entire skin touched up and glowing.

Don’t Miss !

A morning jaunt on the hotel’s speed boat through the spectacular backwaters of Kerala.
