A green oasis of calm in the bustling capital city, impeccable service that makes you feel like royalty… Jaypee Greens Golf & Spa Resort is a real find. It’s hard to believe you’re at the heart of India.
The spa: At the start of a stay guests receive a free consultation to help customise their experience at the spacious Six Senses Spa. Across its three floors, facilities include hammams, a meditation cave, yoga centre and 23 treatment rooms.
The treatment: I was advised to indulge in a combination of massaging and cleansing therapies, beginning with Watsu. The gentleness of this warm-water treatment paved the way for the treatments to come. Two therapists performed the signature Sensory Spa Journey — a unique facial cleansing ritual and body massage. I finished my spa day with an invigorating traditional hammam — very refreshing and left me ready for my evening.
The hotel: The 18-hole, Greg Norman-designed Jaypee Greens golf course is a highlight of this resort and can be seen from many of the 170 rooms. Of the three restaurants to choose from, my favourite was La Brezza, which was recently named one of the best Italian restaurants in the city. The adjoining Enoteca wine bar was the perfect place to enoy pre-dinner drinks. Or for something a bit more British, try The Churchill showcasing cigars from across the world to enjoy with a tot of whiskey.
Don’t miss: The golfer’s treatment areas, which are specialised spaces for golfers to re-energise in, surrounded by open-air courtyards and gardens.
Details: A Deluxe room from September-March costs £117 per night plus taxes; from April-August, it costs £94 plus taxes.www.jaypeeresortdelhi.com
